This news post summarizes the key topics discussed and decisions made during the Belmont FWSD No. 2 Board of Supervisors meeting on March 11, 2026.

Key Topics Discussed:

  • Supervisor Election Update: The Board approved a Certificate Declaring Unopposed Status of Candidates and adopted an Order Cancelling Election and Declaring Unopposed Candidates Elected to Office. 

  • Consent Agenda: The Board reviewed and approved items included in the consent agenda. This included the tax collection report, police and animal control reports, and minutes of the February 2026 Board meeting.

  • Bookkeepers Report: The Bookkeeper’s Report was reviewed and approved by the Board.  The bookkeeper and Board discussed an analysis of prior payments to the Town of Argyle for police services to determine whether the District was correctly invoiced.

  • Developer’s Report: The Board received an update on commercial development within the District. With Tom Thumb open, signage for commercial properties is being installed. A nail salon and tutoring center are opening soon. Other businesses coming later include a dentist, Jersey Mike's, Chuy's, Chipotle, a physical therapist, a dessert concept, and a quick service restaurant.

  • Atmos 407 Relocation Project: Construction is set to begin within 2–3 weeks. The plan involves phased open trenching along Harvest Way, followed by boring under Harvest Way and pipe placement, which may involve temporary lane closures. More information will be provided once available to the District.

  • Police Services Contract Discussion: The Board discussed the termination of the Argyle police contract. The potential options for policing include a task force with the Denton County Sheriff or a contract for regular patrols. The Board and the Town are discussing the placement and ownership of the existing Flock cameras following the termination of the residential police services agreement. 

  • Engineers Report: The Board reviewed updates provided by the district engineer on various district construction and maintenance projects including streetlight additions on 4th street. The District also discussed widening the right turn lane on Center Street and adding delineators to help control traffic. The District engineer also discussed the upcoming tree survey and trimming project in Harvest.

  • Communications Report: The Board received updates on the District’s website, subscriber numbers for alerts and Facebook, and active/closed “Report a Problem” tickets. The Board was also informed of multiple Harvest Market events happening over the year and encouraged to sign up to attend these events.

The next meeting of Belmont FWSD No. 2 will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
